STEAMing Through the Holidays at The After School Scholar

Join us at the After School Scholar for a special winter-themed event where kids can unleash their creativity and explore the world of STEAM! This dynamic, hands-on workshop features two exciting projects designed to engage curious minds. Drop the kids off for two hours of fun, or come and stay to join the action! Children will complete two unique STEAM projects: one collaborative team challenge and one personal project they get to keep!
Project Highlights:
Engineer an Avalanche Mountain Ride: Teams will take on a gravity-defying challenge, applying engineering principles to design and construct a course that guides a snowball avalanche around their "Ski Lodge." They will explore concepts of slope, weight, and the engineering process.
Make Icy Color-Changing Slime: Students will delve into chemistry and material science to transform ingredients into mesmerizing, temperature-reactive, color-changing slime. This is a fascinating, hands-on exploration of polymers and chemical reactions.
