Pregnancy is a transitional time for women, when many physical and emotional changes take place. This prenatal yoga class honors the divine feminine, practicing self-care and connecting to your baby throughout your pregnancy. The physical practice will help strengthen the body for labor, alleviate many common discomforts of pregnancy and strengthen as well as relax the pelvic floor muscles. We will focus on pranayama/ breath techniques to calm the mind, move through fear and center the body. These techniques aid to prepare for a healthy, mindful approach to the sensations of labor and birth. Prenatal yoga can be practiced through all trimesters (clearing any medical issues with your care provider). This class is open to anyone who are pregnant, trying to conceive, receiving or going through IVF, adopting and any women who are partners, mothers, sisters or friends of the birthing person. Our prenatal yoga class is about building community and a support system for those that go far beyond birth. During our class, we share intimately about pregnancy and the preparation for labor. We ask that only women attend this prenatal class. We encourage our male birth partners to attend our Comfort Measures Workshop where parents of all genders can connect as they prepare for labor.
