Formed in 1997 to help prevent juvenile delinquency among Tampa’s inner city youth, Young Lions provides a wide variety of positive, enriching activities for students ages 5-18.
The Young Lions Youth Organization’s sole purpose is to improve the lives of disadvantaged youth now and in the future.
In addition to education reforms, new laws, and more compassionate policies, community youth programs have been at the forefront of advocacy and direct service to at-risk youth.
Coach Dexter and The Young Lions staff individualize their efforts to reach each child in the most effective ways, using early intervention and mentoring to focus on anti-bullying, social competence, and conflict resolution before kids even start making bad decisions.
