The estuarine system is composed of mangroves, tidal marshes, manmade islands, oyster bars, bayous and creeks. The upland area contains pine flatwoods, freshwater marshes, and oak hammocks. Portions of Double Branch Creek and Rocky Creek lie within the 1585-acre preserve.
Access: Boaters may enter by canoe or kayak from Upper Tampa Bay Park. Hikers may enter via the walk-through gate 12460 West Hillsborough Avenue and utilize the unimproved firelanes throughout the Preserve.
