About South Tampa Sticks
Our Mission:
South Tampa Sticks Youth Lacrosse League, Inc. is dedicated to promoting and honoring the sport of Lacrosse among the youth of Tampa Bay for the purpose of developing a love of the game through positive coaching, community among players, parents, coaches and officials, teaching life lessons beyond the playing field, recognition of all players, and, during regular season at the youth level, participation regardless of ability, talent or skill. STS is an I.R.C. §501(c)(3) not for profit corporation.
Our Promise:
We are committed to challenging our players to develop and grow not only as players, but as well-rounded, strong-willed individuals. We understand the impact coaches have on athletes, and we take very seriously our responsibility to help guide these young athletes to grow through the sport of lacrosse.
Our Programs:
STS offers year-around programming geared towards introducing youth lacrosse players to the sport and advancing beginner-intermediate lacrosse players, with a thoughtful approach to player development:
Spring Season: January- April; This is our "Traditional" lacrosse season, when we practice 2x a week, and play games on Saturdays (home and away). We welcome beginner- advanced players, and group by skill when possible.
Summer & Fall Seasons: Summer (May-June) and Fall (October-November) are our “lite” seasons, with 1-2 practice a week, and 4v4 games on Saturday. The 4v4 games allow players who are new or developing in the sport to increase their speed of development in a small-sided structure.
