  • Letter from school confirming current eligibility in the Florida free meal program for 2 consecutive years.

All supporting documents must accompany the application for the request to be considered. Incomplete applications will be denied.

Please email sdcscholarship@MyPasco.net to receive the scholarship form and get more information.

Additional Scholarship Guidelines:

  • Requests are handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. PRNR is not responsible for lost applications.
  • Applicants that qualify for free lunch will receive 35% off the price of their requested camp program. Forms provided by the school board must be from the most recent school year.
  • Eligible programs are the PRNR’s Summer Day Camp program.
  • Limit 1 camp program per child per calendar year. Limit 2 children per family per calendar year.
  • Before and after care program is not eligible for assistance.
  • Applicant receiving scholarship funds from another agency will not be eligible for a scholarship.
  • All other possible scholarship opportunities may be relinquished if a scholarship recipient does not show up for a program without notice.
  • Scholarships will only be granted if funds are available. Recipients will be notified by email.

We thank the scholarship recipients and their parent/guardians for abiding by all rules and regulations and for always displaying appropriate behavior, acting in a courteous respectable manner while participating in county-sponsored activities.

Summer Day Camp Counselor in Training:

Young adults, age 14 to 17, may be eligible to participate in our volunteer Counselor in Training (CIT) Program. This program provides teens with the opportunity to gain experience working with children in a recreational setting.

Selected CIT's will participate in the planning and operation of camp, assist with maintenance, and be a role model and friend to younger campers.

CIT’s will receive training and performance evaluations to help develop the social, mental, and physical skills needed for future employment.

To apply for CIT Positions, please go to MyPasco.net, Volunteer and Job Opportunities. Birth certificate for proof of age is required.

Selection will be based on previous experience in recreation and with children, school grades, extracurricular involvement, reference letters from adults, and a personal interview.

Please note that CIT positions may be terminated at any time at the discretion of management. Please call your local recreation complex for more information about CIT positions.
